Everyone's a cyborg.

If one excepts the definition of a cyborg to be the combination of mechanical apiratus and living tissue then we are all cyborgs. No one lives without the use of some machine even in the poorist countries they have eye glasses and watches, and allthough we are not making these objects part of our bodys they are being made part of our body processes. If i wish to see clearly i put on my glasses i.e. I take a non organic object, not part of my body and make it function as if it were part of my body. This is in effect a very simple, primitive form of that nightmareish sci fiplot device cybernetics, whatsmore this is not a trend that will be reversed any time soon nor should it be for really and truely this is just an extension of tool making, it is simply that the tools are coming closer and closer to the user and they no more change our nature or compromise our humanity than any the taking of a painkiller does.

I always liked the Six Million Dollar Man... Some of the props were really funny... like the one that was supposedly his bionic eye before they put it in. TOO BIG!!

and then he always ran in slow motion... with sound effects that sounded like his joints needed oiling.
