The Pope has recently attacked science for what he says is "the arrogance of trying to play god without being god" is he suggesting that it should become god? He has said "it is attempting to rewrite the language of life" by which he is said to mean the use of genetics, ironically he didn't write the speech himself. And most bizzarly of all is his suggestion that science is trying to "destroy the family" this coming from a man who isn't married has no children [that we no of] and is a member of an organisation that has outlawed both in its members. Irony over load irony over load.

What a load of papul bull.

firstly when i said members i was under the misaprehension that all members of the catholic church had to be priests.

secondly the priesthood may be eisier to do without having to worry about having a familly but for a start protestants seem to get on pretty well juggling both and in any case the rule about preists not being allowed to marry or have children was first introduced to prevent preists having hiers to get the stuff when they die which of course the church wanted and if it was just about making things easier for them then why force them why not let them choose.

thirdly i'm not going to nitpick through everything you've said but i will say this just because the nature of familly life is changing doesn't mean it is destroyed.
people have allways had communication problems familys especially.

this is an interesting issue and i invite you and anybody else for more disscussion as there are i think points we havn't covered communism for instance has long held a dislike for the idea of the familly ans communism for all intents and purposes grew dirrectly out of the jeaudo/christian morality system.
